How we handle waste isopropanol (ipa)
IPA is often used as a wipe down or rinse solvent, which means the waste is usually a mixture of alcohol, water and whatever residue was being removed. Record the contamination on the container label, because it determines whether the solvent can be recovered.
Keep waste IPA in sealed containers away from heat and oxidisers. Do not mix it with chlorinated solvents, as chlorinated content makes recovery far harder and increases disposal costs significantly.
