Hazardous waste disposal for UK businesses
Hazardous waste carries strict legal duties. As a producer you are responsible for the waste from the moment it is created until it is finally recovered or disposed of, even after it has left your premises. That responsibility covers correct classification, safe segregated storage, transfer only to an authorised carrier, and accurate record keeping for at least three years.
We take that burden off your team. Our experts classify the waste with the correct List of Waste codes and hazard properties, specify compliant packaging, and schedule collection around your site hours. ADR trained drivers handle the loading, and every movement is documented with a hazardous waste consignment note returned to you once the receiving site has confirmed treatment.
Typical clients include manufacturers, laboratories, universities, hospitals, garages and bodyshops, print and coatings companies, facilities management providers and construction contractors. Whether you need a one off clearance of legacy chemicals or a scheduled weekly oil collection, the same compliance standard applies.
Compliance FAQ
What is hazardous waste?
Hazardous waste is any waste that is harmful to human health or the environment. In the UK it is identified by the List of Waste, where hazardous entries are marked with an asterisk, and by hazardous properties known as HP codes. Common examples on commercial sites include waste oils, solvents, laboratory chemicals, paints, aerosols, batteries and contaminated packaging.
Do I need a consignment note?
Yes. Almost every movement of hazardous waste in the UK must travel with a hazardous waste consignment note. The producer completes the premises and waste description, the carrier signs the transport declaration, and the receiving site confirms the fate of the waste. Producers must keep the records for three years. We complete and return the note for every collection.
How quickly can you collect?
Scheduled collections usually run within two to five working days. Urgent collections and spill response are available the same day in most of England and Wales, subject to vehicle and treatment capacity for the waste stream involved.
Do you collect small quantities?
Yes. We collect anything from a single 25 litre drum or a box of laboratory smalls through to bulk tanker loads and complete site clearances. Small quantities are consolidated onto scheduled routes to keep the cost sensible.
Which parts of the UK do you cover?
We collect nationwide across England, Scotland and Wales, with dedicated route coverage around London, Birmingham and the Thames Valley including Reading.
Is my waste recycled or destroyed?
Wherever the waste stream allows, we prioritise recovery. Waste oils are re-refined, solvents are distilled and reused, fuels are reprocessed and metal containers are recovered. Only material that cannot be recovered goes to high temperature incineration or permitted treatment.
Nationwide hazardous waste collection, wherever your site is
From a single drum in a lock up to a full site clearance, we collect across England, Scotland and Wales with the paperwork handled for you.
