How our fire extinguisher disposal service works
Time expired extinguishers are pressurised units and must be depressurised and stripped under controlled conditions. We collect powder, foam, water, CO2 and wet chemical units, plus legacy halon which is handled under separate controls.
Units are safely discharged, the contents are treated or recovered, and the steel or aluminium bodies are recycled. We handle single units from small premises through to full site and fleet swap outs, with paperwork returned for your records.
Every collection includes the same standard of care as a matter of course. We classify the waste with you and confirm the correct List of Waste coding, supply UN approved packaging and labelling before the collection date, and send an ADR trained driver with a compliant vehicle. The material is taken to permitted facilities only, and your hazardous waste consignment note is returned to you as evidence that the movement was handled correctly from start to finish.
