Why is hand sanitiser classed as hazardous waste?
Alcohol based hand sanitiser is flammable, so surplus and expired stock is hazardous waste and must be collected under a consignment note.
Do you collect pallets of unsold sanitiser?
Yes. We regularly clear full pallets and container loads of out of stock and expired hand sanitiser from warehouses and distributors.
Can the alcohol be recovered?
Where the stock is suitable, the alcohol content is recovered or used for energy recovery at a licensed disposal site rather than simply destroyed.
Do you remove branding and packaging?
