Used IBCs are rarely empty. Residue in the base, valve and liner means a container that held a hazardous substance stays hazardous waste until it has been cleaned or reconditioned. We collect IBC totes from a single unit to full loads, sort them for reconditioning where the cage and bottle are sound, and recycle the plastic and steel where they are not. Containers that held chemicals, waste oil, fuel, AdBlue or coolant are triple rinsed or heat cleaned at a permitted facility before reuse. Where a residue remains, it is removed and treated as part of the same collection so you are left with nothing on site.
Every collection includes the same standard of care as a matter of course. We classify the waste with you and confirm the correct List of Waste coding, supply UN approved packaging and labelling before the collection date, and send an ADR trained driver with a compliant vehicle. The material is taken to permitted facilities only, and your hazardous waste consignment note is returned to you as evidence that the movement was handled correctly from start to finish.
